Perth 12 December 1786 I Laurence Buchan Surveyor aforesaid do hereby
certify that upon carefull Examination of the several Rates and duties I find they amount in
whole to Four hundred Seventy Nine pounds Ten Shillings Ster. [Sterling] and this date I delivered to
James Maxton Esqr an Exact Duplicate of the above duly examind and compared with the foregoing
notes being left with the Several Masters & Mistresses or at their dweling houses to which their
returns were made.
