[Page] 71Linlithgow Town WHEEL CARRIAGE TAX Survey from 5th July 1785 to 5th April 1786 by James Allan Surveyors
I James Allan Surveyor Aforesaid do hereby certify That upon carefull
Examination of the foregoing several Rates and duties I find they Amount in Whole
to Thirty One pounds ten Shilling Steg. [Sterling] & that upon the 10th Current I delivered
to Mr William Napier Collector of the said duties for the Town aforesaid
an exact duplicate of the Above Account, duly examined & Compared with the
foregoing, which contained my Oath that Notices were left with the several
Inhabitants or at their dwelling Houses & and that they are chargeable with same
hereby certified to be due from them
