I John Maughan Surveyor aforesaid do hereby certify that upon carefull examination of the
for going rates & Duties I find they amount in the whole to Twenty one pounds Sterling that
upon the Twenty fifth day of May one thousand seven hundred & eighty five to eighty six I
delivered to Mr George Mcqueen Collector of the said Duties for the City of Edinburgh an exact
Duplicate of the for going account duly examined & compared which contained my oath
that notices were left with the several inhabitants or at their dwelling house of the dates
annexed to those respective names that they were charged with the sums hereby certified
