A Survey of the Wheel Carriage Tax in the Burgh of Annan
from the 5 of July 1785 to the 5 of April 1786. By William Brunton Sur [Surveyor]

I William Brunton Surveyor aforesaid do here
by Certify that upon careful Examination of the foregoing
several Rates and duties, I find they amount to £5.5.0 Ste.[sterling]
and that upon the 18th March I sent by post to Thomas Johnston
Collector of the said Duties for the Shire aforesaid an exact
duplicate of the above Acct. [Account] duly examined & compared
with the foregoing And I do make Oath that the above is a
just list returned by the several Inhabitants when requisi-
tions were made of the dates aforesaid. William Brunton
