033 This stream rises at ''Hen Well'' about ½ a mile to the west of Aberlemno Ch. [Church]. It bears this name from about the church or Henwellburn to the lands of Melgund and Flemington. Trace 3. 33.10. but is better Known, after passing from Flemington to Melgund, as Melgund Burn. Due attention has been given to the propriety of this name which is recognised by the Revd. [Reverend] Mr Myles & the other respectable authorities quoted, as a proper name, the origin of which is not Known & is therefore spelt from sound.
