027 A tolerably large fresh water loch about 1/2 a mile south of "Beinngreideag" the streams Amhainn Ghreide or River Creed and Allt Ruadh flows into it on the west, at the [] of the Stornoway and Callinnish road and River Creed flows from it on the east. There are two small islands in this loch one of them is about [6?] chains in length by about 2 in breadth, the other is very small. Loch a' Chlachain signifies the Loch of the steping stones.
