"Alvain" "Almeel", and "Aldessan Burns" are the principal streams in the north west of the Parish as tributaries of the "Fin Glen" Stream or Burn, and the "Kirk Burn" The fall of the hills to this Burn, particularly near its junction with "Kirk Burn" forms a a steep Glen which, however, bears no name. |

It rises gradually from the south at Allanhead and may be said to descend on the north side to about the heads of Aldessan & Alvain Burns.
