(pronounced Little-yer, and the name mucklure on 46/15 is pronounced similarly Muckle-yer: I think they should therefore be spelt alike, and as Mucklure is very well authorised this name should be spelt Littlure - The origin in both cases is the same, viz Mikl-Eyre = big beach. and Litl-Eyre= little beach: the word Eyrie, Danish "Or, assumes in Shetland both the form - ayre, & the form - ure or - urie - so that Little-ayre is correct, I think it should be assimilated to the other - [signed with initials] --[written under Littleure]
