046.12 Applies the site of an ancient Chapel and Burial Ground. the name "Kirkigarth" is said to have originated from the ancient Chapel. A number of stone having been dug up where the site is shown, & used in the erection of Congregational Chapel & is said to be the stones of the ancient Chapel. On The Property of Master R. Scott of Melby. It is situated on the north east side of "Loch of Kirkigarth" & a short distance north west from the south west end of said loch, No particular date is assigned for this chapel, but it is generally supposed to have belonged to a very remote period,
