There is a tradition which Says that, "Wallace" put, or threw this Stone from the top of one of the Eildon's, it would weigh about 2 Tons, And strange to say, it scarcely, made an impression in the ground by its fall, altho' [although] falling in soft moorland, It would appear to have been visited by Many Tourists, as there are several Initials Cut on it - It is well Known in this locality by the name here given to it -
