063 This loch is situated on the South margin of the parish of Clunie. The road leading from Dunkeld to Blairgowrie passes along the north side of this lake. Its length is about one thousand yards and breadth seven hundred. There is but one island on the south side, on which stands a Castle. The Loch and Island belong to the Early Estate.
"Loch of Clunie, Is approached on the east. It differs completely from the preceding ones, being surrounded by hills of moderate elevation, and offering therefore, no Alpine features. But in its own character it is very pleasing, and, from one or two points, not unfitted for a picture. It is two and a half miles in circumference, and in some parts eighty-four feet in depth.
