053 | A short distance to the east in a stone wall is a Standing stone about 7 feet high. Mr. Whitson the farmer says that it is not one of the ancient Stone Monuments but that it had been set up in the wall when built, he also says 50 years before the wall was built the stone was not to be seen. It resembles much of the old Stone monuments, only it does not appear to be sunk in the ground. |
