It is thought that in Ancient times Soldiers were either practised in the Art of War - or, that a battle or Skirmish took place on or Near this place - in either of which Supposition, it is Supposed that the piper or pipers were Stationed on this Knowe. On all other particulars, tradition is Silent. |
