017.15 A county Bridge on the line of the Strathaven Road, over a little stream which passes under. The name is taken from an old Qy. [Quarry] hole which bore the name, but is now filled in from refuse_ The old Quarry hole was on the east side of the Road. There are no Linns on the Burn, near the Bridge, worthy of shewing. The name is well known.

Lanarkshire -- Hamilton Parish

Boghead Quarry (continued) - Parish Boundary. The greater part of it has been wrought out, but in the direction (the Parish By [Boundary]) now working Limestone is found, & will be for a considerable time. It is feued from the Duke of Hamilton's proerty, belonging to Colin Dunlop & Co. [Company] & wrought by the same [prim--] for the use of the Iron Works at "Quarter". There is a Limekiln & an Ironstone Pit within this Quarry.
