Sta. acct. [Statistical account]
Mr Anderson, Glamis
043 These Remains are situated upon the top of an isolated basaltic hill called Denoon Law in Denoon glen. "It presents a precipitous face of rocks to the S. [South] & S.W. [South West] on the other side though steep it is covered with a most vivid green sward, forming a contrast with the heath clad Sidlaws about it. Its top is surrounded with a high wall of earth & stones, supposed to have been about 27 feet high & 20 broad; it contains within it upwards of an acre & has evidently been a place of great strength. There are openings upon the E. [East] N.W. [North West] & S.W. [South West] sides.
