054 [Situation] At the S W. [South West] end of the town of Dundee
A large, open, irregular space of ground skirting the margin of the Firth of Tay & situated at the South West of the town On its North side are several very elegant Villas with gardens attached & at the extreme West is situated Windsor Terrace, a handsome range of Houses. The Dundee & Perth Railway passes in front of the green on the S. [South] side along the line high water.
The Green is used as a promenade & generally resorted to by the inhabitants for recreation &c.
It is the joint property of the Town Council and the University of St. Andrews.

The popular name of this object is Magdalene Green
but in many documents it is called Magdalene Yard, and
in the name of the adjoining road it is also the latter
name. It is therefore perhaps as weel retain both names
on plan.
