[situation] In the southern part of the Town of Cupar. A small suburb district of the Town of Cupar, and situated within the limits of the burgh boundary - it consists of two short rows of buildings in the Millgate and Bridge Street with gardens offices tenements including the parish Manse. Some few acres of open Arable grounds. It is held in feu by John Inglis Esqr. off the baron of Rothes and is in consequence called by the Given Name. |

This district is exempt from the jurisdiction of the town corporation and trades and like the country part is under the jurisdiction of the Sheriff and justices of the peace of the County. It originally belonged to the Earl of Rothes who had a residence here and was included in their charter of the Barony of Leslie. - This information was supplied by the present proprietor John Inglis Esqr, of Colluthie and Mr. Shaw, Writer, Cupar.
