085 | This hill is situated immediately west of Culter House. It was formerly entirely covered with wood, but now most part of the wood is cut away. It is still surrounded by a belt of mixed wood broader at its northern extremity than at any other part of it. Very particular inquiries have been made about the use of the word "of" in this name, and it has been ascertained that no other form of this name, either in verbal or written language, than the one here written, is ever applied to this hill. |
