022 Applies to the old parish church of Longside erected in A.D. 1620 and stands in the churchyard on a rising ground near the centre of the village it is now going fast to ruins a new one having been built in 1835.

"Longside at first called New Peter was built about A.D. 1620 under Bishop Patrick Forbes the parish being taken out of those of Peterhead & Crimond. It has a good clock and ten doors also four silver chalices gifted to it by Alexander Gallway, Goldsmith in Aberdeen. The old church is still standing but having become too small for the greatly increased population it was superseded by the new church built in 1835."
