034 [Situation] At the North Side of Cutreoch farm house.
The Site of an old castle pointed out by Mr Martin of Cutroach it is situated about 50 links North of the farm house of Cutroach there is no portion of it now to be seen but a little pavement & some lime mixed with the Soil it is about 20 years Since the ruins were removed It is said to have been used as a prison & also as a place of defence.

034 A bay projecting inland and to within about a chains length of the housess of Isle of Whithorn its sides are very rocky and Some parts are steep. It is very dangerous for vessels coming into harbour from the rocky bottom but it affords good shelter for such vessels as do come up about 150 tons burden.
