breadth and some 7" to 8" in thickness. Some
of these have been pointed & others rectangular
at the outer end. Three of these slabs still
remain in situ and many others lie displaced
within the enclosure. The diameter of
the area between opposite pillars is some
17'. The Northmost circle has been
similar but of less diameter, measuring
across the interior some 19' to 20'. The
slabs have been in great measure removed,
but sufficient remain to show that the
plan has been similar. The diameter
between the opposite pillars is some
13'. The entrance has also been from
E by S. [East by South] but its details are not now
obtainable. In front of the entrances
are foundations of other structures
probably secondary.
Near the base of Morven on its Eastern
flank and on slightly rising ground in
boggy surroundings are the ruins of
two similar constructions to that last
described. A large sheep stell, however,
stands near, and to it is no doubt due
the state of delapidation into which they
have fallen. Much of the outer walls
