by the existence of the pillar stones though
the covering slabs have all fallen. Some
12' inwards towards the centre of the con:
:struction from the SE [South East] and of the N. [North] gallery
and at a less distance from the remains
of the gallery towards the S. [South] are signs of
an inner circular wall enclosing an
area with a diameter of some 27'.
Rising from this foundation at the NW. [North West] are
two high pointed stones 4' to 5' in height
above ground - one quadrangular in section
some 14" in width and the other a flat
pointed slab, while a third similar stone
rises from what may be the base of
an inner wall surrounding a circular
enclosure with a diameter of some 16'.
The vegetation & ruins render the details
of the interior structure very obscure.
There is an entrance to the main
enclosure at the NW. [North West] 7' wide between
the termination of the wall on the N [North] and
the wall passing round from the SW. [South West].
The latter is carried beyond this entrance
for distance of some 20'.
The crofter from Mealbuidhe whom I
met at this spot told me of various strange
