Old brass candlestick belonging to
Mr. Hector Swanson, Princes St. Thurso. It is
said to have come from St. Peters Church
but that is unlikely.

The description of the church may be taken
from McG.& R. The tower which contains in
the basement the burial place of the Sinclairs
of Forse is now built up. The S. [South] window
is built up to a height of about 6' from the
bottom. On the W. [West] side of the S. [South] transept
close to the S. [South] window a slab much effaced built into the
wall marks the burial place of James Sinclair
of Borlum, his eldest son, and wife E... Innes

Thurso Castle The Ulbster Stone
The sculptured symbol stone brought from
Ulbster has been placed on the summit of a
high conical mound at the side of the
avenue of Thurso Castle and about 150 yds [yards]
distant from the front of the house. It measures
above ground 5' x 3' and is some 7" in thickness
On the back has been cut "The Ulbster Stone".

In the garden behind Mrs Coghill's Ho. [House]
Bank St. is an octagonal basin 1'.7" in
diameter over all, 1'.2" in dia. [diameter] across the basin
7" in total depth. It is placed on a low
base 1'.6" square, 6" deep having the angles
chamfered. Cut on one side are
letters AB. and M. not original. It is
doubtful if it is a font.
At the head of Bank St. stands an old
17th century mansion said at one time
