The tongue is of iron suspended from a ring.
No.3. is a clumsier bell than either of the
former. Its extreme height is 10" - that of the
handle which terminates in a flattened knob
4 1/2". The diameter at the shoulder is 3 3/8"
and at the mouth 6 13/16". Around the
lower half of the bell runs the incised
inscription; THE GIFT OF D.MK TO YE POOR
OF YE BURIAL PLACE OF ST TROSTAN. 1737.
and across the top of the knob
D. MK
I..........S
LONDON
1737.

There is also preserved in the museum
an urn of the foodvessel type found in
the neighbourhood. It measures 5 3/4"
in height, 6 3/4" in diameter at the mouth
and 4 5/8" at base. It is divided into
three bands of ornament by a series of
horizontal impressed lines - below the
everted lip, at the bulge of the body and
near the base. Below the lowest lines
the surface is left plain. The upper &
lower edge of each of the three bands is
marked with repeating chevrons or zigzags
