031 [Situation] 4 chains East of Farie Rock.
A Pond excavated out of a solid rock at the North end of a small Narrow Gully or inlet of the Sea by which the pond is filled at high water, the Superfluous water returns or discharges by a [Grating] when the Tide Ebbs. Adjacent to it is a neat Cottage for the fisherman & Caretaker who preserves the Fish & feeds them with [Limpets] etc. in the Pond. The fish of this pond are for the use of Col. [Colonel] McDowalls Table & the fisherman is allowed an yearly Salary for the Supplying of Logan House with fish.-
