019 A Small Stream taking its rise in the Mosses of Low Mandork when it enters the Gass farm it takes the name of Gass burn it runs for about 1 mile thro [through] the North end of the Gass farm from thence it runs through Clugston farm is called Clugston Burn by Some (at about where it leaves the Gass farm it is joined by a Small Stream from Clugston Loch) it passes thro [through] the Mill dam of the Spittal Mill about 1/4 mile East of Said Mill dam and near the Spittal Mill it Crosses the road from Kirkcowan to Portwilliam about 15 chs [chains] East of Said road it falls into the River Bladenoch about 12 chains South of the Spittal Bridge, it's general direction is Easterly from the Mill dam to the Bladenoch is by Some people called Spittal Burn.
