A considerable hill the Surface of which is cultivated [arable land] the base is of an oval shape its Summit commands an extensive view of the surrounding country. There was formerly a fort (or some work resembling it) on this hill which give rise to the name Doon. This hill is situated about the centre of the farm of the Boreland
