Glenluce Oct. [October] 20th / 46
Sir
In reference to a note
Recd [Received] this morning from Division
office respecting the Ancient
village of Ballinclach - I find
by enquiry that it is a final
position of the village of Glenluce
but is very little Known by
that Name except by Title
deeds of some property . it will
thereafter be necessary to have
the traces of the village on the
3 Chain Scale Sent here to
have the position of this marked
on traces -

Can you not describe
the position of the
Village without the
traces . It is not
necessary to show
the boundary of
the old village
merely it's site
