A Small Glen or hollow on the main road leading from Stranraer to Glenluce extending a Short way each side part of this hollow is planted on each side of the road. It is situate about 2 miles from Stranraer hence the name near the N.W. [North West] side of this place is a Trigl. [Trigonometrical] Station called by Trigl. [Trigonometrical] Party "Aird North" it being on the farm of Aird.
