An ordinary farm house slated with good outhouses attached and a farm of 418 Scotch acres nearly all arable of a sandy soil & occupied by James Lockhart the property of the Earl of Stair. near the north side of the house is the remains of an ancient moat but very little of it remains at present on the farm SE [South East] side of the house is a Trigl. [Trigonometrical] Station called "Lockharts farm" by Trigl. [Trigonometrical] party probably from the name of the occupier and on the west Bank of Cults Loch is a "Farina" mill.
