A moderate sized farm house & office houses with a farm of about 60 acres Scotch of arable ground occupied by William Garret the property of the Earl of Stair An ancient Cairn which stood near the E. [East] side of the farm gave rise to the name the track of still remains
[note] There is also a Trigl. [Trigonometrical] Station called Cairn McNillie which stands on high ground on the track of the cairn here referred to

A tract of peat moss at the South side of Clachanpluck & Stirk Park the new road from Stranraer to Glenluce passes through part of it formerly this moss was much more extensive but a great part of it has been reclaimed and rendered good arable ground
