It is the property of a joint Stock Company (Five pound Shares) it has been built in the Year 1840 at an expense of about Five thousand five hundred pounds which has been depayed by the Company the premises is enclosed with a Stone wall about 12 feet high inside of which there is a Small garden given to the Keeper of the WorKs. it is Situated on the North Side of the West end of Harbour Street Stranraer
