015 A Large Stone and Lime built Castle of Apparently intended strength it is now roofless and the walls which yet stands to there full height are in several parts broken and falling into decay It was first built by a family of the name Adair who was then proprietor of some of the adjoining lands It now belongs to Sir A Agnew of Lochnaw & has been the Property of his Ancestors since about the years 1316 or 1318. The Summit of the Southern Gable is a Trig [Trigonometrical] Point named by Trig [Trigonometrical] Party "Gealnough Moor old Castle"
