Cairn Ryan point is Situated 1/4 of a mile North of Cairn Ryan Village and is divided from the Demesne of Sir Alexander Wallace by the line of Road from Stranraer to Ballantrae and near the Lighthouse on this Point is also a Trig [Trigonometrical] Station Called by Trig [Trigonometrical] party Cairn Ryan Probably from being so near the village of Cairn Ryan. |
