Chalmers in the Caledonia : considers these to
have been stones of Memorial . In a note which is quoted
from a Stat. Acct. [Statistical Account] xIII [13] 586 " In the parish of New Luce, there
are two large Stones, that stand erect, on a small eminence ",
on one of them is cut the rude figure of a cross". -
