005 | A handsome dwelling house situated on elevated ground S. [South] of Bowden Hill. It is in the Elizabethan Style, with sharp pointed gables and ornamented Chimneys, two storeys high and a fine Oriel window on the N. S. & W. [North South and West] . There is very little Ornamental ground, the grounds in the vicinity of the house being very rough but well wooded - There are two vegetable gardens, one being walled in, the E. [East] wall of which is six links thick, this, with the Remains of a tower (on which the dovecot is erected) built on Arches is supposed by George Cuthill and others to be the remains of an Ancient Castle or some other building and there are Several Carved stones projecting Situation: In the N.E.
