The parish of Kildonan is in the Presbytery of Dornoch, Synod of Sutherland and Caithness. In 1847 that portion of the parish of Lothwhich lies between the Burn of Garvault and Caithness was separated and disjoined from said parish by the court of Teinds, and annexed to the parish of Kildonan Quoad Omnia. These lands that were annexed to the parish of Kildonan pays Stipend to the Minister of Loth whose right of the Teinds of same is reserved. See letter to the minister of loth parish and his replies thereto, attached to this page. This parish is bounded on the north by the parishes of Reay and Farr; on the west and sothwest by the parishes of Farr & Clyne, on the south by the parish of Loth; and on the south east & east by the Moray Firth & the parish of Latheron in the County of Caithness. There are no detached portions of this parish and there are nodetached portions of any other parish situated within it. |
