This name applies to a portion of the "Atlantic Ocean" forming throughout the Entire length (The Ph. [Parish]) the Northern Boundary of the Ph. [Parish] of Tongue. the coast throughout is very precipitous, Especially from the "Kyle of Tongue" Westward to the Western Boundary of the Parish. There are a few Islands Situated a Short distance off the Coast of various Sizes, named respectively "Eilean nam Ròn" "Rabbit Islands" "Sgeir an Oìr" "Eilean Co'omb" "Meall Chaluim" "Eilean a' Chaoil" and "An Innis" the first four are the principal Islands and only one of them is inhabited viz - "Eilean na Ròn" upon which there are a few Crofts with little Cultivation. |
