113 This name applies to the Remains of an ancient Castle situated about 3/4 of a mile West of Little Ferry, the northern portion of wall stands aout 15 feet high, A portion of the S.W. [South West] Corner was repaired and slated in 1809 & used as a dwelling house for some time, this portion is two story high & in bad repair, a smithy is at the South end of it. Lord Duffus occupied the Castle in the year 1621. Property of His Grace the Duke of Sutherland.
