017.07 The steeple or belfry of the old church by St Ninians. It is in a good state of preservation, of a Square form & about fifty feet in height, Surmounted by a dome of Stone. The church was destroyed by gunpowder in 1745, it having been used as a Magazine by Prince Charles' Army. There are two detaShed portions of the walls of the Church still remaining.

It was destroyed by gun-powder in 1745, it having been used as a Magazine by the Army of Prince Charles. The date of its erection is not Known.
