On re-expressing this name to the last three authorities, two of whom were formerly supplied, they state "there is no such name in the neighbourhood as Gartinghill, but the steading to which this name is written on the trace is called Gartwhinnie". 023.04 A farm house and steadings in good repair on a small but prominint hill. The dwelling is 2 storey high, the steadings are only one. The property of the late Colonel Simpson. Situated adjacent to and east of The Camp.
