Vessels of seventy tons burden come up to this at high water of spring tides, which rise about four feet over the ordinary depth of the river. several Kinds of works are carried on here, viz. a soapwork, two chemical works, two saw-mills, several timber yards, and ship building. Various proprietors. The river is navigable to Ladyneuk, about a mile higher up than the "Shore2.
