On referring this name to the field the Examinerstates that the Authorities gave Westquarter Burn but it was wrongly copies into the Name Sheet West Quarter Burn
030.08 This stream rises in the upper part of the parish of Falkirk and forms during its entire course the boundary between the two parishes. It retains this name until it reaches Beancross where it is joined by Polmont Burn, from which point the united streams take the name of Grange Burn.
