010.10 ; 010.11 ; 010.15 ; 010.16 A large river which takes its rise from a spring in the north side of Benlomond, and, running from west to east, forms that firth, or arm of the German ocean, to which it gives its name. Its principal tributaries are, the Goodie, Teath, and Allan on the north; on the south the only stream of any size entering it is the Bannock Burn. It forms the southern boundary of the parish, during which its banks are low & has a muddy bed.
