024.11 A small village on the left bank of Carron Water. The houses are chiefly two storeys and all slated and in good repair. It contains a population of nearly 400 The men are principally employed by the Carron Coy. [Company].
There is a School, Post Office, an Inn, and Public Houses in it. At one time this was the principal harbour where the Carron Coy. [Company] shipped their goods, but Grangemouth is now used as being more commodious, the Coy. [Company] have still a Dock here for repairing their smaller vessels. Carron Coy. [Company], the principal proprietors.
The Population of the part of Carronshore situated in Larbert Parish is about 370 .
