Statistical Account
016.02 A small eminence in the pleasure grounds of Boquhan, and on the banks of the Boquhan Burn. It is flat on top and evidently artificial. I can get no information either traditional or historical respecting its original use; the latest account is that General Campbell, the father of the present proprietor, was in the habit of getting his tenents together for a grand field day, when they would display their valour in attacking and defending this impregnable fortress But the most interesting attack was on the beef and beer after their hard fighting was over.
