016.01 | A remarkable isolated rock on a small stream near the farm of Limpithill. It is about 12 feet high on the one side and about 20 feet on the other. It has evidently been formed by the action of water. Tradition states that it received its name from the circumstance of a man of the name of Dugald having found shelter there on several occasions from his persecutors during the disturbed times of the Seventeenth Century. |
