015.02 | A small village on the Stirling and Dumbarton road in the parish of Kippen, and five miles west of the village of that name. The houses are partly one and partly two storeys high, nearly all slated, and, in general, good repair. There are three places of worship in it, namely, a Quoad Sacra, a U.P. [United Presbyterian] and a Free Church, with their respective manses. It has a post Office, one inn, one small publichouse, seven small grocer shops, a smithy and two Carpinter shops. |
