009.10 | This stream which forms the Boundary between the Parishes of Kippen and Gargunnock, descending from the Rock of Ballochlearn, meets with the red sandstone, through which it has opened a passage and wrought its soft materials into a number of curious shapes, similar to the wells and caldrons of the Devon; after running through a wild and well wooded glen it empties itself into the Forth at the Brisge of Frew. There are three mineral springs close to this Burn a short distance East of the Kippen Railway Station, two of them on the Kippen side and one on the Gargunnock side; they are similar in their medicinal properties to the waters of Airthrey.
