029.06 A small village, occupied by Weavers and other workmen, principally the property of William Caddell Esqr, it contains a good schoolhouse and there is a Chapel of Ease a little to the South of the village, It also contains a Post Office, and a little to the West is an extensive Powerloom Factory for the manufacture of Lappets. Auchinmully was the original name of the village but is now better known as Low Banton.

029.06 A good School house erected in 1837, but the School has been in existence since 1771, The Parish Contributes £12- yearly towards the maintainance of the Schoolmaster, the remainder of whose salary is made up by Subscriptions from private individuals.
